Support for the German Rowing National Team 2022
From 6 to 16 February 2022, I accompanied the national rowing team to their training camp in Lago Azul and provided medical care. I knew the location well from previous training camps. This time, the squad comprised the men's sweep rowing team, including the German men's eight, and the men's sculling team. Rowing distinguishes between lightweight and openweight crews.
After more than 30 years, I finally had the opportunity to row in a racing single scull again. Thanks to the kind support received, everything went smoothly for me and the boat. This experience further heightened my admiration for the achievements of rowing athletes. Successful rowing in a single scull requires immense physical and mental strength. The daily training sessions and competitions pose a significant challenge for the athletes. It was a great honor for me to be part of it and to support the national team.
