Preparing for your appointment

Bring existing medical reports, relevant test results and any X-rays or MRI scans. An up-to-date medication list, details of allergies and an overview of previous treatments are helpful.

You may wish to note your main questions: When do symptoms occur? Which activities are difficult? What would you like to be able to do again? Clothing that allows examination of the affected area makes the appointment easier.

What happens during your visit

1. Discuss symptoms and goals: Tell me what is limiting you and which questions you would like answered.

2. A focused examination: I examine the affected area and review existing findings. Further tests depend on the clinical question.

3. Agree on the next steps: We discuss the assessment, treatment options and how to proceed. Read more about how I work.

For patients travelling a longer distance

If you are travelling for functional compartment pressure testing, we will discuss preparation and timing with you in advance. Please allow approximately two to three hours , depending on how long it takes to bring on your typical symptoms during exercise.

If previous findings have already been reviewed, the initial examination and measurement can take place at the same appointment. If you are travelling a longer distance, we recommend a consultation the day before and measurement the following day. We are happy to help you find accommodation.
