Training camp Lago Azul 2023

Training Camp of the German Men's Rowing National Team in Lago Azul, Portugal from January 3rd to 17th, 2023

Double "Freiburg Power" in Supporting the German Rowing National Team, during Training Camp in Lago Azul. Physiotherapist Thoralf Rademacher from the RehaMed Competence Center and Dr. Andreas Aust, both from the Homebase at the "Heilquellen", are part of the medical team. Also joining them is physiotherapist Eleni Henry from Hamburg.

Just like at home by the Heilquellen, the medical team works hand in hand at the training camp in Portugal. Athletes and coaches alike are to be supported to the best of their abilities.

A total of 33 athletes from the men's sweep and sculling teams, along with Alexandra Förster as the sole female athlete, are part of the group. The team also takes care of the 12-member coaching and support staff.

It is the first training camp of the new year. The focus lies especially on basic endurance training and strength development. The beautiful lake and the apartment complex with its well-equipped gym provide ideal conditions.

It was a great honor for us to be part of the team and to support the German team in preparing for the new season to the best of our abilities.
