Immediate Competition Preparation for Men's Sweep for the World Championships in Belgrade

As the attending physician of the rowing national team, I had the honor of accompanying the training camp for the immediate competition preparation of the men's sweep in Völkermarkt, Austria, from July 29th to August 6th. The conditions were challenging from the start. The team struggled with numerous illness-related absences. Later, heavy rain, flooding, and debris in the water further complicated training conditions. Nevertheless, the team spirit remained remarkably high. All athletes worked hard and diligently for success. Although they were unable to complete the planned training volumes, they prepared intensively for the World Championships in Belgrade. This event also determined qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. My practice manager, Tamino Gafner, accompanied me during the training camp. Together, we supported the entire team to the best of our abilities.
