Training Camp of the German Rowing National Team in Lago Azul – Season Kickoff in Portugal

The German Rowing National Team, is kicking off the new season with its first training camp in Lago Azul, Portugal. For the fifth time, I am accompanying the team as a medical doctor to Lago Azul, ensuring optimal care together with coaches, physiotherapists, measurement technicians, and sports scientists.

Perfect Conditions – With a Small Challenge

The weather is at its best: clear blue skies and sunshine. However, the wind is sometimes challenging for the rowers. A total of 33 athletes and 15 staff members are on site, preparing for the season's highlights: the World Championships in Shanghai and the World Cups in Varese and Lucerne..

On the Road to Competition Form

This training camp lays the foundation for a successful season. In addition to intensive water sessions, athletic training and physiotherapy are crucial for bringing the athletes into top form. The close cooperation between experts from different fields plays a decisive role in this process.
