Pressure measurement is arranged by telephone; an appointment booked online is initially for a medical consultation.
How much time should you allow?
For the examination, exercise to bring on your usual symptoms and pressure testing, please allow a total of approximately two to three hours . The duration depends particularly on how long it takes to reproduce your typical symptoms during exercise.
Initial examination and measurement at one appointment
If your previous findings have already been reviewed in advance, the initial examination and measurement can take place at the same appointment. Please agree this with our practice when booking and explicitly state that you are enquiring about compartment pressure testing.
Planning a longer journey
If you are travelling a longer distance, we recommend scheduling the consultation for the day before measurement. This gives us time to discuss your findings and the procedure together before the examination. We are happy to help you find accommodation.
How to prepare and what to bring
- Make a note of your symptoms: During which sport and after how much exertion do your symptoms appear? Where exactly do you feel them, on which side, and how long do they last after you stop?
- Gather previous medical records: Bring any existing medical reports, imaging with the corresponding reports, and details of previous treatments. We will discuss in advance which records are relevant to your assessment.
- Check which sports clothing and equipment to bring: When arranging your appointment, discuss which clothing, sports shoes or sport-specific equipment you should bring for the exercise part of the assessment.

Billing and cost information
Fees are charged under the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ). Patients with statutory health insurance can have the examination on a self-pay basis. We inform you of the estimated costs in advance.
